Matt Niessen joined IBM in 2011 as a forensic investigations and security SME (subject matter expert). During his 30-year career in secure communications, physical security, critical infrastructure protection, and forensic crime analysis, he has been instrumental in creating and instituting solutions to protect the homeland as well as private property interests. Matt holds a degree in electronic engineering technology.
The son of a high-ranking member of the Cleveland (Ohio) Department of Police, Matt grew up with a profound respect for law and order. His career choices have been shaped by those roots. With pride he demonstrates and shares accounts of how he makes technology his tool of choice to “catch more bad guys,” and to assure justice is served more efficiently and expeditiously.
His architectures and systems designs have been used on land, sea, air and even in space – across a broad range of industries including Government, Energy/Utilities, Retail, Financial, Travel/Transportation, Manufacturing and Education.
