Cesar has a Master's Degree in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia Sede Manizales. With over 20 years of professional experience, Cesar started his career at Ecopetrol Oil Refinery in Colombia then moved to Canada, briefly performed R&D with Fuel Cells and extensively worked as Process Engineer for two major engineering companies in Calgary. Supported different projects around the world as an active member of the Talisman Energy's Global Projects group based in Calgary and worked at heavy oil and gas facilities within the Canada Production Engineering team at Repsol Canada Oil and Gas. Cesar currently provides engineering technical support to the New Water Technology Development Centre (WTDC) at Suncor's Firebag facility. The WTDC is an initiative of the Canada's Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA), funded by Suncor, CNRL, Devon, Nexen and Husky.
