Craig Burns, P.Geo., is Manager, Petroleum, at the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC), which is responsible for administering the province’s securities laws and fostering a fair and efficient capital market. Craig leads a group of oil and gas professionals responsible for assessing continuous disclosure from reporting issuers engaged in oil and gas activities, maintaining the cornerstone National Instrument 51-101 Standards of Disclosure for Oil and Gas Activities, and communicating with capital market participants on oil and gas matters.
Prior to the ASC, Craig worked within the acquisitions and divestitures group of a leading Calgary-based energy investment bank and conducted energy equity research at a major bank. Preceding this, he was employed with a local oil and gas engineering firm where he carried out domestic and international evaluations and audits of oil and gas reserves and resources other than reserves for in excess of nine years.
A graduate of Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. (Hon.) degree in Earth Sciences, Craig has in excess of 20 years of oil and gas-related experience.
