Benjamin Kwame Asante

Ministry of Energy, Ghana

Mr. Benjamin Kwame Asante is one of the most sought after geophysicist in the oil and gas industry in Ghana. He has worked in different roles and capacities in the Upstream Petroleum Industry in Ghana.  His knowledge and experience spans across seismic data acquisition and interpretation, prospect generation, Well-site geological duties, Log interpretation/formation evaluation and well correlation, Oil &Gas policy review and formulation, promotion of the Hydrocarbon Potential of Ghana and negotiation of Petroleum Agreements etc. He is a member of the Team that formulated Ghana's Revenue Management Bill. By dint of hardwork he is currently serving in the position of the Director of Petroleum Upstream at the Ministry of Energy and previously the General Manager for Geoscience at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. Member of SEG, GhIG, EAGE.  Holds a Bsc in Geological Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, PGDip in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Trondhiem, Norway and Msc in Hydrocarbon Exploration (exploHub) from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Also holds a degree in Law (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Holds a certificate in International Petroleum Management from the Institute for Petroleum Development Inc, Austin, Texas and a Certificate in Seismology and Earthquake Engineering from China.
