Dr. Thomas Eyre is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, whose research focuses on induced seismicity from hydraulic fracturing. He joined the group in June 2017. He obtained his PhD in Geophysics from University College Dublin, Ireland, where he conducted research on seismic sources in volcanic environments, before working at the University of Alberta as a post-doctoral fellow, where his research focused on seismic source (moment tensor) inversion and applications. This included synthetic tests on the reliability of source inversion in hydraulic fracturing environments, investigating the fracturing behaviors of reservoirs from microseismic datasets, and stress inversion from seismic source mechanisms.
