Sepideh Maaref is a Ph.D. Candidate of Petroleum Engineering at the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, University of Calgary. Her current research work focuses on the application of functionalized Nanofluids for sweep efficiency improvement, especially in heavy oil reservoirs, which is supported by the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Material Engineering. She has hold her M.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and her B.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran. Her research interest areas include fluid flow in porous media, Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), reservoir modeling and simulation. She is a member of the Petroleum Society as well as CSChE.
