Simon Davies manages an engineering team at Canadian Natural Resources Limited, responsible for thermal facility designs and modifications. He is also responsible for technology development in Greenhouse Gas reduction for thermal assets, and sits on the COSIA Greenhouse Gases steering committee. He has over 30 years’ experience working in the petrochemical and oil industry in process and technology development, consultancy, design, commissioning, and operations. His areas of expertise include GHG reduction, SAGD, hydrogen, synthesis gas, methanol, and ammonia, and he holds two patents for CO extraction technology. Before relocating from the UK to Canada, he was active in the Institution of Chemical Engineers, chairing the Scottish branch, and mentoring and interviewing candidates for their professional engineer program. In Canada he has been active in the Canadian Heavy Oil Association, chairing and participating in committees as well as sitting on the Board of Directors.
