SPE Workshop: Enhancing Life Cycle Costs of Thermal Wells Through Drilling and Completions

June 13-14, 2017

Challenged by the market turmoil caused by oil price volatility and tight global financial markets, our In-situ Thermal Heavy Oil team must find a way to become more competitive. It is only through; increasing operational efficiency, decreasing NPT, reducing cost through well designs or new technology, elevating reliability and enhancing communication will we be able to compete on a world scale.

By integrating Engineering and Operations in both slant and vertical thermal developments, Drilling and Completions will deliver on efficiency measures through collaborative interaction with each other and by accessing the knowledge of the industry.

SPE Workshop: Life Cycle Asset Management for Unconventional Field Development

June 15, 2017

The lifecycle of an unconventional development, from reservoir characterization, through asset design, installation, optimization, and infill development to retirement will be discussed. The targeted outcome is to identify significant cost drivers that risk competitiveness, and identify opportunities for improvement through implementation of industry best practices using a continuous improvement approach.

Topics will include asset development strategies; component optimization including KPI’s such as production, cash flow, Opex, NPV, IRR, $/bbl; integrated planning and execution concepts; technology integration; and consideration for wind-down and abandonment.
